Dane Summers successfully answered Rich Collins's question:

At least once a day, OS X Freezes when I Command-Tab.

The application switcher comes up, the selection box is over an application I can move the mouse but that is it. I have to restart every time this happens. I will pay mucho to get this working.

I found this person with the same problem:

I already upgraded to 10.4.7

I already tried to repair file permissions

This happened on my PowerBook, and now it is happening on a "fresh" install on my new MacBook. Here is what I am usually running:
* TextMate
* FireFox (Have a hunch this is it for some reason)
* X-Chat
* Terminal
* Mail
* Adium
* SSH Keychain
* iTunes

If you have access to another computer, try SSHing in and killing the Dock process, not the Finder like the guy at the link tried. This may help narrow down the problem.

Regardless, I have a feeling that a system reinstall is in order. There is no need to wipe everything (though backing up, of course, is a good idea). Just insert the istallation CD, boot from it, and choose to "Archive and Install." Make sure you select the option to restore your home folder and settings. This is almost guaranteed to fix it but will not wipe your data or settings.

If it does not, then your only solution of course will be to back up, wipe everything, reinstall, and restore your data manually.

Delete com.apple.dock.plist from ~/Library/Preferences and then run "killall Dock" in your Terminal. See if that helps.

Hasn't crashed yet but I haven't been using my machine as much as usual as I am on vacation. If I give it a full day of use and it still hasn't crashed, I will pay you the reward.
