My car was recently involved in an accident. I live in Georgia and the insurance company has sent me a check for diminished value. The amount of the check seems very low considering when I trade in my car I will surely be negatively impacted by a larger amount during trade-in. My car is a 02 Caddilac DTS, dealer maintained, low miles, excellent condition. The insurance company settled for $187.63 for diminished value. Does this amount seem fair? Should I, or is there anything I can do about it?

How bad was the accident , also have you subtracted you insurance deductable from the actual damage? Many deductables are $500 or more, making coverage to be a total of $687.63.
