Please help me!! I have a 1997 Oldsmobile Cutlass. I have taken my car to Pep Boys, Goodyear, another auto place, and noone can tell me what the problem is. On the diagnostic machine at Goodyear, a code came up showing the knock sensor needed to be replaced. Also the hub and bearing speed sensor came up. I replaced the knock sensor and had the fuel filter changed, and had an oil change. My car has not improved, let me describe what it's doing. It will drive along fine until at 15 minutes I hear a dinging noise and then my car begins bucking and slowing down until it cuts off. Sometimes I can turn it right back on and go a few more feet, but at other times, I have to let it sit there and charge up because when I try to put it in drive it cuts off. Also, once it starts up, if I step on the petal, the car just takes off all of a sudden and very fast. My next step is to take it to the dealer, which I am really afraid to do because I know it will cost an arm and a leg. Any suggestions you can give me will be so much appreciated. Thank you!

get an OBD2 scanner ($50 US) and hook it up- it will tell you what codes the ecu is throwing-
beyond that- it could be a number of things- the fuel filter would be #1 but you said you had that replaced.
it could also be the maf or map sensor, giving wrong airflow reading.
