You do know this is an odd questions, but since I'm bored. People like to perform tricks because they look cool and can be considered to be stunts. When you perform them, you not only have fun in the process but feel a sense of accomplishment. It also elevates your status among skaters and people when you can do tricks that are difficult and not common. But ultimately the answer is very simple and it begs the question really why you asked this question to begin with. In short, its fun.
