For me? No.
In general? It depends. What helps you remember is paying attention. You may find you pay attention to different aspects of the text. So for example you might remember names and complex sentences better when reading yourself, and lyric phrases and the emotional context better when being read to.
For children, they find it harder to switch off their minds when they actually have to do the reading themselves. Adults, on the other hand, can often read long boring things without remembering a word. Its the intensity of attention and emotional involvement that cement the memory.
