Good Question!
The effects of global warming in the contemporary world are as follows;
i. Rise in the sea level due to melting of polar ice caps and glaciers, which will eventually drown coastal cities, countries and islands.
ii. Non forming of glaciers, resulting in permanent drying up of rivers and consequent acute shortage of water for irrigation and drinking.
iii. Increase in communicable diseases caused by virus, bacteria, protozoa etc. The population of insects will also rise dramatically.
iv. Shortage of food due to very less agriculture due to hot climate. Most of the fruits and vegetables will become extinct.
v. Innumerable species of flora and fauna will be lost forever.
vi. Shortage of oxygen (this will be the deadliest effect).
vii. Perhaps World Wars for food and water.
The innumerable effects have been summarized as above. Hope that answers your question.
